An independent guide to one place, written to answer the questions people actually have before they drive five hours to see it.
Who publishes this
This site is written and maintained by HCL, an independent publisher based in Ukraine. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any tour company, Vatnajökull National Park, or any Icelandic public body. We do not sell tours ourselves and we do not run boats.
How the information is checked
Prices, season dates and access details are checked against operators' own booking pages and Icelandic public sources, and each page carries the date it was last verified. Iceland changes its prices and opening dates between seasons and sometimes mid-season, so every page tells you to confirm before you travel. That is not a disclaimer for its own sake — it is the realistic state of the information.
For anything safety-critical, we defer to the official sources rather than paraphrasing them: road.is for road conditions, vedur.is for weather, and safetravel.is for travel alerts.
How it pays for itself
Through affiliate links to booking platforms. If you book a tour after following one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It does not change what we recommend — the boat comparison says plainly when the cheaper option is the better one, and when neither is worth it. The full terms are on the affiliate disclosure page.

If something here is wrong, out of date, or has changed since we checked it, tell us and it gets fixed: hello@jokulsarlon-glacier-lagoon.online. Corrections from people who have just been are the most useful mail we get.
